Guys,
I am currently in 3rd year B.Sc. ( mathematics ) from Lucknow University. I plan to do M.C.A after this. Now here is the problem:-
I have scored 45% marks in my XIIth class and have a gap of two years after XIIth ( because of health and other problems ). Now, I have scored 70% marks in B.Sc. So, my question is that if you manage to get into some pretty decent insti for MCA and score good marks, get good knowledge, do I stand a chance of getting a decent placement? Kindly reply honestly and if I am screwed ( which I think I am ) then kindly advice me on how to proceed further?

One more thing, what is the difference between MCA and B.Tech and which institute is really good for MCA?

Thanking you in advance

Is this College programme a good one?

Posted: 27 Aug 2011 06:34 AM PDT

Hi, I am a student who is going to start the Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme at the University of Guyana.

I want the best engineering education possible. I plan to work in the Caribbean, but if I get a chance, I wouldn't mind working in Canada or the US.

I want to know how the courses at this Uni stack up against other countries.

here's the site: http://www.uog.edu.gy/faculties/fot/elecourse.htm

Note that a 'DIPLOMA IN TECHNOLOGY (ELECTRICAL)' is equivalent to an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering in other places and will lead to the 'BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING'.

From what I've read on the site, the programme seems like a good one. I'm just looking for some reassurance.

IIT JEE 2012: No Test Fee For Girl Candidates. Boys To Pay More.

Posted: 27 Aug 2011 04:56 AM PDT

IIT JEE organizers (IITs) have taken a surprising decision today to waive the test fee for girl candidates. Every year, Indian Institutes Of Technology (IIT) select candidates for the 4 year engineering course through the joint entrance examination. The application fee for the test is Rs. 1000/-. However, from next year, girls won't have to pay the fee to apply for JEE. This waiver of fee has, however, affected the amount that the male candidates will pay. The fee for male candidates has been raised to Rs. 1800/-. The decision was taken and approved by the Joint Admission Board. Next year's IIT JEE will be conducted by IIT Delhi.

I wish to know what our CEans think about this decision taken by the IIT JEE organizers? Do you think it'll encourage more girls to appear for JEE? The question that should be asked is "Was the JEE fee the main reason that girl candidates didn't appear for the exam?". I'm looking for lots of responses from all of you.

I wish to know what are the latest trends in salary being offered to fresh MS graduates after they get the higher degree from a University in the US. There are couple of posts on the Internet that say that MS graduates (engineering discipline) usually get anywhere between $49k - $70k per year.

Does anyone have latest information?
