| Posted: 24 Jul 2011 03:07 PM PDT Hello , Engineers from all over the world . I am in a bit of dilemma and I know most of the people are experience here so I need your advice . I am a computer science engineer(B.Tech) from Hyd , India passed out in 2009 . I did a diploma in Oracle DBA 11g after my Engineering . After which I come to Saudi Arabia . Currently I am working in Saudi Arabia . Under Sales and Marketing department and CRM department as well as a data analyst . I am on a job visa here and getting very good pay . Everything about this job is good except that its boring and non challenging . But most importantly its non IT job . Since I am a Computer science engineer this is not the job that will benefit my resume . Since it will be counted as non IT experience . SO lately I have been thinking of quitting and go to my home country India and hunt their for a job in It field . reason why I didnt quit tilll now - I have to start as fresher in IT . This experience will not be counted I think ( correct me if I am wrong ) - The pay I am getting here is 4 time more that wat I will get In India . Here I am getting around 80,000 - 90,000 Rupees ( converted ) . In India they will pay me around 20,000 - 25,000 Rupees . - No work pressure . Easy job . Do as you like kind of boss So guy please post your valuable suggestion . Wat should I do stay or quit ? . This decision will change my life so thats why I dont want to take it in a haste . Thanks in advance |

| HELPPP. WINWINWIN.Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/Engineering Mini-Mini-Project Ideas? Posted: 24 Jul 2011 06:24 AM PDT Win my eternal owing should you help me! Hi ALL! Confused Newbie here! :| Was hoping to get some help for this qualification project. I'm an aspiring Chemical Engineer, still in school however, by school I mean, I have one year left of High School. (i.e. I'm 17 so if I sound less-than-knowledgeable, thats why) I have to do a 5000 word essay on a topic of my choice, OR 1000 word essay accompanied by a piece of some sort-documentary, painting, play, product. Literally, anything. Usually answering a question of some kind e.g. How has the industrial revolution affected international relations since the beginning of the 20th century? Then analyse and explore ya da ya da ya da to some kind of conclusion. I'd rather do the accompanied thing and initially thought about doing something on cosmetics and product development, how its changed thanks to technology over time to seem like I have a life as well as interest. But theres nothinggg for me to read/analyse. I would like it to be chemistry/engineering/technologically related to show University admission tutors my passion; but have little to no knowledge on the big/innovative questions out there. While I don't want to do something basic and school level. So yeah. Basically this is a desperate shout for help :) All suggestions welcome. Even if they venture off chemistry etc but into like economics etc. THANKYOU |
| Mac notebook batteries can be hacked!!! Posted: 24 Jul 2011 06:24 AM PDT The chip that helps control your Mac notebook's battery could be the latest target for attackers. A report in Forbes today details the findings of Accuvant security researcher Charlie Miller, who claims to have found rather lackluster security guarding the firmware that controls various notebook battery functions and data stores. Culling through a battery firmware update Apple released back in 2009, Miller pulled out two passwords that would grant access to that firmware, giving would-be attackers the ability to alter readings sent back to the OS and even add small software programs that stay off the hard drive. Miller noted that he outright permanently disabled seven notebook batteries during testing. A key part of the exploit, Miller told Forbes, was that the batteries use the same passwords, making it an easy hack once you have the right credentials. Potentially complicating that is the fact that Apple builds its batteries into its notebook computers versus making them removable. That change began in 2009 with the 17-inch MacBook Pro, and trickled down to the other models, resulting in considerable battery life gains at the expense of easy replacement. This means if a battery were to somehow be compromised, it's a trickier fix. At the same time, it means potential attackers need to gain control of that system before they can do anything, short of taking apart the machine. So far the hack is a proof of concept, and has not yet been documented in the wild. Miller told Forbes he plans to detail the exploit as well as show off a fix at next month's Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas. An Apple representative declined to comment on Miller's findings. Source: CNET |

Read the passage below and answer the questions following it on the basis of what is stated or implied in the passage. Currently, the paramount problem in the field of biomaterials, the science of replacing diseased tissue with human-made implants, is control over the interface or surface, between implanted biomaterials and living tissues. The physical properties of most tissues can be matched by careful selection of raw materials: metals, ceramics, or several varieties of polymer materials. Even the requirement that biomaterials processed from these materials be or several varieties of polymer materials. Even the requirement that biomaterials processed from these materials be nontoxic to host tissue can be met by techniques derived from studying the reactions of tissue cultures to biomaterials or from short-term implants. But achieving necessary matches in physical properties across interfaces between living and non-living matter requires knowledge of which molecules control the bonding of cells to each other—an area that we have not yet explored thoroughly. Although recent research has allowed us to stabilize the tissue-biomaterial interface by controlling either the chemical reactions or the microstructure of the biomaterials, our fundamental understanding of how implant devices adhere to tissues remains woefully incomplete. According to the passage, the major problem currently scientists are facing in the field of biomaterials is: assessing and regulating the bonding between host tissue and implants (Answer) controlling the transfer of potentially toxic materials across the interface of tissue and implant discovering new materials from which to construct implant devices deciding in what situations implants are needed 46. The author’s primary purpose is to answer a theoretical question in the field of biomaterials discuss the current state of technology in the field of biomaterials (Answer) resolve a research dispute in the field of biomaterials predict an ethical crisis for biomaterials researchers 47. | CE Mock Online Tests Suggestions. Posted: 24 Jul 2011 05:58 AM PDT THE TESTS ROCKED Here is how we can make it rock further. :) Corrections to be made. 1. Looking at the greater response for tests, we will need a system for discussing answers. The current one is good but more up gradation is required. (Feel free to suggest things. 2. *Auto* submission of tests. 3.When we press the Un attempted questions button, should directly point towards, those questions. 4. What about the quality of questions? I have no idea. I am not preparing for CAT. but feel free to discuss if CE can make it still great next time. :) 5. @ Biggie: Check the condition of your server. It should bear the load next time. :) 6.@AKD/moderators: Sending everyone PM for the tests would not be a practical idea. as contestants would be many. Can there be a system for COMPUTER GENERATED MAILS? Any more points guys? :) |

| Information about the CE Mock Aptitude Test - I Posted: 23 Jul 2011 11:10 PM PDT I will be sending the link of the test to every participant via PM. The test starts at 5 p.m. sharp and ends at 6 p.m. If you appear late for the exam, no extra time will be given. The test is a mixture of Quantitative ability, English and Logical Reasoning based 50 questions. Each question carries 5 marks. There is no negative marking. (Guessing would help in saving time) The difficulty level of the questions varies throughout the test. Solving all the questions is not mandatory. You can skip difficult questions and solve the easy ones first. It is advised to keep pen and paper with you before the test. Keep only one tab open in the browser for distraction-less paper solving. :D All the questions will be discussed in the forum later along with correct solutions. :cean: If you still have any doubts, please ask in this thread. :) |
