So Imaran wants to start from scratch beginning with stopping the drone attacks.

Seriously, we need to leave Pakistan alone. They have enough problems there without us adding to it.

Stop using this 'foreign hand' excuse and deal with the problem locally.

MTNL Mumbai restricts 3G download speed to 384 kbps

Posted: 15 Jul 2011 02:01 AM PDT

But before I even connect to dial-up, the dongle itself searches for a signal. Before the problem occurred, I used to get 3G network (blinking blue light) even if I had not connected to the internet via dialup. So even now, before connecting it should indicate 3G signal availability just liked it used to do before.
Another thing is that I am unable to get 3G services even on my mobile phone.

And even I wanna use Mobile Partner but is giving me some issues. I had sent you a private message regarding it but I guess you skipped it by mistake.

Hey I can finally use MTNL SIM on my dongle. All thanks to you.

But I am using a dial-up connection. With Mobile Partner, I am experiencing a very strange problem.

Mobile Partner cannot connect to the internet, but when connected via dial-up, I can disconnect via Mobile Partner.
Mobile Partner cannot read my data card ie signal strength is 0%, but it still shows the upload and download speeds.

In short, mobile partner doesn't works when disconnected. Only once I connect via dial-up, mobile partner can be used.
Any help?

And how do I select 3G network on Mobile Partner? I have the software installed but I don't use it due to the strange problem mentioned above.

Should I risk changing plan?

More time to watch videos or chat ....? I don't know...not trying to be cynical ...just qrius....

You save much more than microseconds. With 4mbps video streaming becomes fast. ( Its an advantage for me as I watch a lot of developer videos, and podcasts). I can listen to online radio and even continue browsing , without a lag. My brother meanwhile can continue to game online aswell. (I'm on 2mbps BTW.Not yet shifted to 4mbps.) Ive also heard from some BEAM users that at 15mbps, 720p streaming is smooth enough :o.

Its crazy saying 2mbps is "enough" for anyone. Its like.. Bill Gates saying 640k of RAM is enough for any PC.

Internet speed is like that, the faster it is, the more fast you want it to be. I guess it depends on usage, if you just want to check you email, google and post an "update" on facebook, yeah you could manage on a slower connection.

And whats the deal with running your own torrent site? Torrent sites dont have the "content" on their servers dude. Its p2p.
