Posted: 24 Jul 2011 03:24 AM PDT All of the large ISPs in India have plans that are 10mbit/s or higher. They merely charge far too much for those plans due to what we consider to be faulty thinking (as in, more speed costs more money). The government doesn't have a say in what anyone provides. So long as we have the permission to lay cables, they can't tell us what we can and cannot provide, so long as we don't violate the license agreement. They enforce a minimum of 256kbit/s, but that's it. Otherwise, if your statement were true, players such as Beam Telecom and Fivenet wouldn't be providing the services that they do. BSNL wouldn't be providing FTTH up to 100mbit/s. Tata wouldn't have 100mbit/s plans in south Mumbai. Airtel wouldn't have it's 30 and 50mbit/s plans. Reliance wouldn't have it's 20mbit/s plans. We're building an entirely new network for the purpose of providing high-speed Internet, so as long as we pay our bills (when it comes to buying the bandwidth), we are allowed to resell that bandwidth however we like - there's nothing they can do to restrict us from offering the plans we're proposing. Oh, so you've seen the bank balances of our backers? Damn, guess we'd better get new ones. May I suggest that you do your research properly next time.
Spice Mi-410 at Rs 13,999 - India's Most Economical High End Android Posted: 24 Jul 2011 03:20 AM PDT when i took my galaxy s to the official service center nearby my place , those guys had placed a board partition to separate the repair section where these service engineers(funny but they call then engineers) sit and do the job and it was not more that 12'*12' place hardly(including office and repair section) ,and my mobile's board was to be changed and there was this aunty who i later figured was mother of the owner there, said to me 3 times whenever i went to get my handset " aapka handset expensive hai hamne board change kar diya hai lekin imei number nahi chad raha hai, 3 baar change kar diya hai , kharcha hamare upar hai aaplse kuch nahin lenge ' later i found out that they dont have the ****ing devise working with which they had to write my imei on new board and they were not doing anything to give my devise back to me until i called the area manager and he then told them to get it done from another service center immediately, my god they said same things in 18 days they had my handset repeatedly, but when i got handset back to my surprise it was working just normal as it should have been , i was soo woried that what will they give in my hand after so many days , but touch wood its still nicely working. :Boy Hi 5:

Posted: 24 Jul 2011 02:45 AM PDT ^^packaging looks good. I was really not expecting this, others would have just sent the set in the factory packaging. Btw what protection was there on the inner side, i mean to protect the shocks..-anything like foam padding etc. And i guess you did the instalation yourself or did their guys help out.

Irregularity in Mah&Goa Telecom Licences?? Posted: 24 Jul 2011 01:49 AM PDT Hi, I just noticed this on my prepaid cards, the expiry date of various cards (which is generally their licence renewal date) Idea - 4th April 2014 (Runs on 900 MHz, largest operator) Vodafone - 4th May 2014 (Runs on 900 Mhz, 2nd largest operator) Airtel - 4th May 2013 (Runs on 1800 MHz, 3rd largest operator) So apparently, Airtel got its licence 1 year before Idea and Vodafone, but chose 1800 MHz (which costs 2.5 times more for the operator because more towers are needed). Someone please clarify this.
